Brazil pushed for a comeback and created several scoring opportunities but struggled to convert their chances. Neymar reduced the deficit with a penalty deep into added time, but it came too late to change the outcome as Norway held on for a famous victory.
The result sends Norway into the World Cup quarter-finals, where they will face England in the next round. Brazil, one of the tournament favourites, bow out of the competition after an impressive campaign ended in disappointment.
