
Tragedy struck along the Sagamu-Benin Expressway in Ogun State as two persons lost their lives and four others sustained injuries in a road accident involving two trucks.
The crash, which occurred on Monday, involved a Hanvan truck with registration number LAR 716 XB and a white Howo truck without a visible registration number.
According to the spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, all six occupants involved in the accident were male.
He confirmed that two victims died on the spot, while the remaining four suffered varying degrees of injuries.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accident was caused by excessive speeding by the driver of the Howo truck, who reportedly rammed head-on into the Hanvan truck.
Akinbiyi disclosed that the injured victims were rescued by good Samaritans and rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Idera Hospital morgue in Sagamu.
Authorities have once again urged motorists to exercise caution and adhere strictly to speed limits to prevent avoidable road tragedies.
