Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have rescued two girls who escaped from a terrorist hideout in the Mandara Mountains and reunited them with their families in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
The rescue took place during a routine patrol near Armuda Bridge in the Ngoshe area, where soldiers spotted the girls and confirmed they were civilians in distress.

The victims, identified as 15-year-old Bintu Adamu and 11-year-old Sadiya Jummai, were reportedly abducted from the Ngoshe community and held captive by terrorists in the Chinene area of the Mandara Mountains.
According to available reports, the girls managed to escape from the enclave before encountering the military patrol. After ensuring the surrounding area was secure, the troops provided them with first aid and transported them safely from the location.
The rescued girls were later handed over to the Ngoshe community leader, Mallam Bulama Kunda, for reunification with their families.
The successful operation highlights the continued efforts of security forces to locate abducted victims, dismantle terrorist hideouts, and improve security across insurgency-affected communities in Nigeria’s North-East.
