A 25-year-old man, identified as Moh’d Musa, has reportedly been stabbed to death during a fight in the Bayan Bata area of Bauchi metropolis.
The incident occurred at about 11pm on Saturday, August 22, 2026, following an altercation between Musa and a man identified as Abubakar Abdullahi, popularly known as “Dan Iya.”
According to the Bauchi State Police Command, the argument escalated when Abdullahi allegedly brought out a knife and stabbed Musa.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed in a statement on Sunday that the victim was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, for medical attention. However, he was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty.

Following the incident, police operatives from the ‘A’ Division, Township, responded to the scene and arrested the suspect. The knife allegedly used in the attack was also recovered and kept as an exhibit.
The police said Musa’s remains have been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy, while the suspect remains in custody.
The case is expected to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, directed detectives to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that justice is served.
The command also urged residents to avoid violence and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
