Troops of Sector 2, Operation Enduring Peace, have recovered about 800 cattle suspected to have been rustled by terrorists in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The recovery took place around 6:20am on September 27, 2026, in Kingkis village after security personnel received information that terrorists were moving a large number of suspected rustled cattle through the area.
Following the information, the troops launched a pursuit operation and made contact with the suspected terrorists.
The suspects reportedly abandoned the cattle and fled into the surrounding forest as the troops advanced.

The recovered animals were subsequently moved to a safe location pending identification and verification of their rightful owners.
The latest operation came a day after troops operating in the same area foiled another suspected cattle-rustling attempt at Sabon Layi in Wase Local Government Area.
During that operation, 57 cattle were recovered and taken to a military base pending identification and eventual handover to their owners.
