
The Recovered Weapons
Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force (North West) under Operation FANSAN YAMMA have successfully neutralised two suspected Lakurawa terrorists during a coordinated military operation in Kebbi State.
The operation, which took place on June 27 in the Sabarumawa axis, was launched following credible intelligence indicating that the terrorist group was planning an attack on the Sabarumawa community.
According to a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lt.-Col. Aliyu Danja, troops from the Chief of Army Staff Intervention Battalion 7 acted swiftly by mobilising to the area and setting up a tactical ambush along the suspected route of the terrorists.

“As the terrorists advanced towards the ambush position, troops engaged them with superior firepower, leading to a fierce gun battle.
Two of the terrorist were neutralised, while others fled into the surrounding forest,” the statement revealed.
Following the encounter, troops recovered several items from the scene, including AK-47 rifles, magazines, 143 rounds of ammunition, and a motorcycle believed to have been used by the group.
