
Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully rescued an abducted woman and recovered a sum of ₦8 million believed to be ransom during a coordinated operation in Plateau State.
The rescue mission, carried out following credible intelligence, targeted a suspected hideout of kidnappers within a forested area of the state.
Security sources revealed that the troops engaged the criminals in a brief confrontation, forcing them to abandon their victim and flee the scene.
The abducted woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was rescued unharmed and has since been reunited with her family after undergoing initial medical checks.

During a search of the hideout, soldiers recovered ₦8 million in cash suspected to have been paid as ransom for her release. Other items, including personal belongings and materials linked to the kidnappers, were also reportedly found at the scene.
Military authorities stated that efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects, assuring residents that operations have been intensified to rid the area of criminal elements.
