Preliminary intelligence and battle damage assessments indicated that the casualties included a prominent ISWAP commander. The targeted fighters were reportedly members of the group’s Murabitun unit, a mobile fighting formation operating in the Lake Chad region.
The military said the operation had significantly weakened the group’s operational capacity and disrupted its planned attacks.
Operation Hadin Kai reaffirmed its commitment to sustained air and ground offensives aimed at eliminating terrorist threats, protecting vulnerable communities and restoring lasting peace and security across the Northeast.
