President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to pray for bandits and terrorists to abandon their criminal activities, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to restoring peace and security across the country.
In his Eid-el-Kabir message released on Tuesday, the President congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and around the world, describing the festival as a symbol of faith, obedience, and sacrifice.
Tinubu urged citizens to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, selflessness, unity, and compassion, noting that the lessons from Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion remain vital to national development and unity.
Addressing the country’s security challenges, the President acknowledged that terrorist and bandit attacks continue in some parts of the country despite ongoing efforts by security agencies.
“I am aware that, despite the best efforts of our security and intelligence agencies, including the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader, heartless terrorists and bandits still attack some communities,” Tinubu said.
“I assure you that you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all forces of evil.”

The President also appealed to Nigerians to pray for peace, stability, and wisdom for the nation’s leaders during the Sallah celebrations.
“Let us pray that those who engage in criminal activities among us may have a rethink and abandon their evil ways, or face the full weight of the law,” he added.
Speaking on the economy, Tinubu said the reforms introduced by his administration over the past three years are beginning to yield positive results.
“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is now visible,” the President stated, adding that Nigeria is gradually becoming a preferred destination for investors, which would help stimulate economic growth and create jobs.
He concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful, joyful, and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
