Former Argentina striker Sergio Aguero believes England’s lack of unity could hand Argentina a crucial advantage when the two nations meet in their FIFA World Cup semi-final.
The former Manchester City forward said Argentina’s squad is built on strong friendships and togetherness, qualities he believes have played a key role in the team’s success throughout the tournament.
According to Aguero, Argentina’s players remain united even when matches become difficult, while England tend to lose composure and argue among themselves whenever things fail to go their way.

“England lack unity. Argentine players are very close-knit, very friendly, and we maintain our friendships on the pitch,” Aguero said.
He added that the atmosphere within the Argentine camp is free from conflict, making it easier for the team to overcome challenging moments.
“This camaraderie is crucial for achieving victory because there is no anger or bad blood within the group. In England, when things start to go wrong, you can see them arguing with one another, leading to conflict. That’s where we have the advantage.”
Argentina head into the semi-final as defending world champions after edging past Cape Verde, Egypt and Switzerland in the knockout rounds. Captain Lionel Messi has been central to the team’s campaign, contributing eight goals and two assists.
England have also impressed on their journey to the last four, with Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham leading the attack, including a memorable quarter-final victory over Norway.
The winner of the semi-final will advance to the World Cup final to face Spain, who secured their place after defeating France in the other last-four encounter.
