Residents of Zamfara State on Monday took to the streets to protest against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, demanding his resignation over persistent insecurity and other challenges affecting the region.
The protesters, comprising men, women, elderly persons, youths and children, marched through parts of the state capital, chanting ‘Tinubu Must Go’ and displaying messages expressing dissatisfaction with the Federal Government’s handling of the country’s security situation.
Some demonstrators were seen wearing branded T-shirts and baseball caps bearing the #TinubuMustGo slogan.
Videos from the protest showed large crowds participating in the demonstration, with a vehicle equipped with a loudspeaker accompanying the protesters and amplifying their chants as they moved through the streets.

The demonstration comes amid prolonged insecurity in Zamfara, which remains one of the states worst affected by banditry, kidnappings and deadly attacks on communities in Nigeria’s North-West region.
For years, armed groups have carried out attacks across Zamfara and neighbouring states, including Sokoto, Kebbi and Katsina, leaving several communities devastated.
The violence has resulted in killings, abductions, displacement of residents and destruction of property, worsening the living conditions of affected families.
The protest also reflects growing public frustration over the persistent security challenges in northern Nigeria and increasing demands for the Federal Government to take decisive action to protect lives and property.
