Three women have been killed and another person injured after gunmen attacked a mining site in Rakum community, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The attackers reportedly stormed the mining site around 4:00pm on Monday and opened fire on workers before fleeing the area.
Community sources confirmed the incident, saying the attack has further heightened concerns over the safety of residents and workers in the area.

The latest attack comes amid renewed violence reported in parts of Plateau State, including Barkin Ladi, Mangu, Riyom and Bokkos.
Residents have appealed to security agencies to intensify efforts to track down the attackers and prevent further violence.
As of the time of the report, the Plateau State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident.
