
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested Abdulrazak Sale Kundang, a principal suspect in the alleged murder of 46-year-old Rilwanu Dauda in Karofin Madaki.
The arrest was disclosed in a statement signed by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu.
According to the police, Dauda was attacked and allegedly stabbed with a knife by Sale and other members of his gang on July 5, 2026, at about 9:30 a.m.
He was rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi, where a medical doctor reportedly pronounced him dead at about 11 a.m. the same day.

Police said Sale was arrested on October 5, exactly three months after the incident, following information provided by a Good Samaritan.
The command also alleged that the suspects had previously been linked to a politically motivated murder in the same area before going into hiding.
Efforts are ongoing to arrest the other suspects who remain at large.
The Commissioner of Police commended the officers involved in the arrest and directed that the case be thoroughly investigated before the suspect is charged to court.
He assured residents that the command would continue to pursue suspects involved in criminal activities across the state.
