Three unidentified men have been killed during an annual traditional festival in Eku, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The incident reportedly happened on Monday night, leaving several other participants injured.
According to a source, the violence followed the alleged attack on a member of a group in another part of the community. The incident was said to have triggered a reprisal attack during the festival.
The source said some youths were targeted during the attack, with three people shot dead and others sustaining injuries. Some of the victims were also reportedly attacked with cutlasses.
Meanwhile, anti-cultism advocacy platform Naija Confra described the incident as a suspected cult-related attack.

The platform identified two of the deceased as Isaac, popularly known as Ziko, and another man known as Baby Police. It said the two were close friends.
However, the platform said it had not identified the third victim and would not describe him as a cult member without sufficient evidence.
Efforts to obtain a response from the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, were unsuccessful, as calls to his phone went unanswered. A text message sent to him had also not received a response as of the time of the report.
