
A tragic incident has unfolded in Benue State, where a man has been arrested for allegedly killing his father following a heated family dispute.
The suspect, identified as Terfa Nyikwagh, was taken into custody by operatives of the Benue State Police Command after the incident occurred in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area.
According to reports, the matter was brought to the attention of the police on July 25 by the Clan Head of Turan-Tse Twar, Injorov Tongov, Zaki Akor Kpan. The incident itself reportedly took place a day earlier, on July 24.
Sources revealed that the altercation began as a disagreement between the suspect and his father, Mr. Nyikwagh Abor, over the circumstances surrounding the death of another family member, Ternenge Uwuh.
The argument reportedly escalated into violence, during which the suspect allegedly attacked his father with an axe, inflicting fatal injuries.

Following the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Katsina-Ala led a team of officers to the community, where the suspect was apprehended without resistance.
The victim’s remains have been deposited at the Gondozua Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
Security sources indicate that the suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue to determine the full details surrounding the incident.
Authorities have confirmed that he will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The incident has sparked concern within the community, highlighting the devastating consequences of unresolved family conflicts.
