Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke have rescued six victims who were kidnapped in Benue and Taraba States.
The victims were rescued around Gbise community in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State after troops received intelligence on their whereabouts on September 25, 2026.
According to the operation’s media officer, Lieutenant Ahmad Zubairu, five of the victims were abducted along the Chenchengi-Takum road, while the sixth, identified as Munza Yusuf, was kidnapped from his residence in Takum, Taraba State.

The troops swiftly mobilised to the location and evacuated all six victims to safety. The rescued victims have since been taken through preliminary investigation as security operatives intensify efforts to track down those behind the abductions.
Operation Whirl Stroke said it would continue intelligence-led operations and patrols across Benue, Nasarawa and Taraba States to protect residents, farmers and commuters and curb criminal activities.
