Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, have launched a manhunt for a suspected armed robber who reportedly escaped during a security patrol in the Ajibawo area of Ogun State.
The incident occurred around 12:35 a.m. on September 13, 2026, when officers from the Kajola Oke-Ore Divisional Command were conducting a routine patrol around Success Unit Post, Success CDA, Ajibawo.
According to the Corps Commander, Dr Soji Ganzallo, the operatives noticed a man carrying a bag and approached him for routine questioning about his movement and the contents of the bag.
The man reportedly fled when the officers attempted to question him. During the ensuing chase, he abandoned the bag and escaped into the surrounding area.
A search of the abandoned bag allegedly uncovered three firearms — a pistol, a single-barrel firearm and a suspected AK-type rifle. The bag also contained a pair of pliers, a measuring tape and a carpenter’s bar.

The recovered items were secured and the matter was subsequently transferred to the Atan-Ota Divisional Police Command for further investigation and examination of the firearms.
So-Safe Corps said efforts are ongoing, in collaboration with other security agencies, to identify and apprehend the fleeing suspect and determine whether the recovered weapons are connected to any criminal activity.
The Corps urged residents and community leaders to remain vigilant and report credible information about suspicious persons or activities to the appropriate security authorities.
