A man identified only as Success has died after allegedly being tortured by operatives of the Ogun State security outfit, So-Safe Corps, in the Oju-Ore area of Ogun State.
The incident occurred on Saturday along Coca-Cola Road, following a domestic altercation between Success, his mother, and his younger brother. Reports say Success sustained a head injury and was bleeding during the dispute.
His mother reportedly called So-Safe Corps officials to intervene. According to eyewitness accounts and videos circulating online, the officers took Success away from the scene. Instead of handing him over to the police, they allegedly took him to an uncompleted building in the Oju Ore axis and assaulted him.
Facebook user Temitope Adeniyi claimed the officers beat Success to death. The post, which was first shared by Ota Gossip, stated that the officers acted after being invited by the mother to resolve the family dispute.

Confirming the incident, So-Safe Corps spokesperson Adegunwa Adegbuyi said the officers involved had been handed over to the police for prosecution. He condemned their actions, stating they acted outside the outfit’s standard operating procedures.
“The mother called us to intervene, and some of our ad-hoc staff went. They are supposed to revert, but unfortunately, they took the law into their own hands,” Adegbuyi said.
He added that the first suspect was handed over immediately, while the second was transferred to the police a few hours later. The commandant, Soji Ganzalo, has consistently warned officers against human rights abuse and interference in civil matters, he said.
The Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Babaseyi Oluseyi, had not responded to enquiries on the matter as of the time of filing this report.
