
The Kogi State Police Command has arrested six students of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) over allegations that they assaulted and humiliated a fellow student based on unverified claims about his sexuality.
The suspects, identified as Inajo Henry, Nzekwe Victor, Lucky Victor, Lucky Gambo, Paul David, and a 17-year-old minor, are facing charges including assault, criminal force, defamation, and cyberstalking.
According to police authorities, the incident occurred on March 29, 2026, when the victim, Oladosu Sunday, was allegedly lured to an apartment in the Felele area of Lokoja near the Living Faith Church axis.
Investigations revealed that the attack was premeditated and carried out based on suspicions that were not supported by any evidence.
The victim was reportedly subjected to physical abuse and public humiliation, and the act was recorded and later shared online.

The circulation of the video sparked widespread outrage within the university community and beyond, with many calling for justice and disciplinary action against those involved.
Police confirmed that during interrogation, the suspects admitted to carrying out the act based on mere suspicion.
Authorities have since concluded investigations and arraigned the suspects before a competent court.
The Kogi State Police Command condemned the incident, describing it as a clear case of jungle justice and cyberbullying.
The Command warned against taking the law into one’s hands, stressing that such actions violate the rights and dignity of individuals.
It further urged students and members of the public to seek lawful means of resolving disputes, while reaffirming its commitment to maintaining peace and protecting citizens’ rights.
