Responding to the allegations, the Bayelsa FRSC Sector Commander denied that the agency was responsible for the accident. He explained that officers left the scene to pursue the truck driver, who allegedly attempted to flee after the crash.
According to the FRSC, the truck driver was later arrested and handed over to the police, where he remains in custody as investigations continue. Both the police and the FRSC have urged the public to remain calm while authorities determine the exact cause of the fatal accident.
