A Nigerian man known as Mr Bishop has shared a deeply emotional account of how his late wife allegedly concealed her HIV status for years, only revealing it shortly before her death.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze on April 30, 2026, Bishop recounted how he met his wife in 2017 and believed they had built a stable and loving family together.
The couple reportedly had three children during their marriage.
According to him, everything appeared normal until 2025, when his wife suddenly became seriously ill.
He said he made significant efforts to seek medical treatment for her, spending money and trying to understand the cause of her worsening condition.

However, he alleged that she often avoided giving doctors full information about her health and at times traveled away under the explanation of seeking further treatment.
Bishop said the situation took a shocking turn when she returned to Calabar and finally opened up to him about her condition.
“She told me only days before she died that she had been living with HIV,” he said.
He described the revelation as devastating, adding that he had no prior knowledge of her status throughout their relationship. He also claimed that some members of her family and close associates were aware of the condition but did not inform him.
According to him, his wife passed away less than a week after making the confession.
Following her death, Bishop said he faced criticism and accusations from some members of the public online.
He added that the emotional stress, combined with heavy medical expenses during her illness, placed a serious strain on his finances and wellbeing.
Despite the painful experience, he said his priority now is caring for their three children, who he stated have tested negative.
The interview has sparked wide discussions online about trust in relationships, health disclosure, and the importance of honesty between partners in serious commitments like marriage.
