
Security personnel at the Federal University of Education, Pankshin (FUEP) in Plateau State have successfully thwarted an attempted theft within one of the institution’s classrooms, leading to the arrest of a suspect.
The incident occurred on Wednesday during a heavy rainfall, when the suspect was reportedly caught in the act of removing electrical bulbs and other classroom fittings from the university premises.
Confirming the development on Thursday, the Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations of the institution, Charles Nda Homsuk, disclosed that the swift response of the university’s security team led to the immediate apprehension of the individual. He added that the stolen items were recovered at the scene.
Homsuk further stated that the suspect has since been handed over to the appropriate law enforcement authorities for further investigation and possible prosecution.
