
Security operatives have apprehended a suspected informant linked to Boko Haram activities in Niger State, in a coordinated intelligence-led operation.
The arrest, which was disclosed on Tuesday by security analyst Zagazola Makama via a post on X, was carried out by troops of the 221 Battalion in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) under Operation Savannah Shield.
According to sources, the suspect was arrested around 1:00 p.m. on May 30 in Koro community, located in the Kainji axis of Borgu Local Government Area, following credible intelligence on his movements.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect allegedly provided logistical support and sensitive information to Boko Haram operatives.

He is also believed to have connections to a previous attack in Kwankoso village.
After the incident, the suspect reportedly fled the area, moving from Shafashi to Kaoje in Kebbi State before eventually being tracked to Kainji, where he was arrested.
A security source confirmed that the suspect is currently in military custody and undergoing further investigation.
Authorities have stated that efforts are ongoing to determine the full extent of his involvement in terrorist activities and to identify other possible collaborators.
This development underscores ongoing efforts by security agencies to dismantle terrorist networks and strengthen intelligence operations across the region.
