A man narrowly escaped being lynched after he was accused of participating in a suspected one-chance robbery operation in Rivers State
The incident reportedly occurred after the suspect was accused of stealing a young woman’s mobile phone while they were travelling in a commercial bus. According to eyewitnesses, angry youths apprehended the man and allegedly assaulted him before security personnel arrived at the scene.

Police officers quickly intervened, rescued the suspect from the mob, handcuffed him and took him into custody for further investigation.
Their swift response prevented what could have turned into a fatal mob attack.
