
A man identified simply as Richard has been arrested by the Rivers State Police Command following the death of his lover, Caroline Sunday, after an alleged domestic assault in Eneka, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday after the suspect confronted the woman over allegations of infidelity. According to residents, the woman denied the accusation, leading to a heated argument that turned violent.
Witnesses said the confrontation escalated into a physical assault during which the victim allegedly fell and struck her head against the sharp edge of a wall, sustaining severe injuries.

Neighbours who heard her cries for help rushed to the scene and found her lying in a pool of blood. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead after being taken to a nearby hospital.
Residents at the scene restrained the suspect before officers from the Eneka Police Division arrived in response to a distress call and took him into custody.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, said the suspect remains in custody while detectives continue their investigation.
She stated that the victim’s body has been recovered and deposited in a mortuary, adding that the police are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure that justice is served.
