The Delta State Police Command has debunked claims circulating online that the body of Oghenemine Ogidi, a 28-year-old musician allegedly killed by police officers, is missing.
According to the police, the deceased’s remains are safely deposited in a mortuary within the state and are accessible to his family upon request.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, described the viral reports as false and misleading. He stated that the family has been duly informed and can view the body whenever they choose.
Edafe further explained that the case is being treated as suspected murder, making an autopsy legally necessary. He added that the family has consented to the procedure.
