Police operatives in Lagos State have arrested a man wanted over allegations of cyberbullying and making disparaging comments about religious clerics and their beliefs.
The suspect, a resident of Alakuko, was arrested on Tuesday following petitions submitted by some clerics.
The arrest followed a directive by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Tijani, for the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, to investigate the allegations.
A police source said a prominent pastor of the Celestial Church in Ojokoro had petitioned against the suspect, accusing him of making disparaging remarks about the pastor and his religious beliefs.
An Islamic scholar in Ogba also reportedly petitioned the police, alleging that the suspect made offensive comments about him and his faith.
