
A passenger has died after suffering a medical emergency aboard a Kenya Airways flight from Nairobi, Kenya, to Lagos.
Kenya Airways confirmed that the incident occurred on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, as the aircraft was approaching Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
According to the airline, the passenger became unresponsive around 9:20 p.m. Nigerian time, about 20 minutes before the flight landed.

The aircraft touched down at approximately 9:41 p.m., after which medical personnel boarded the plane and attended to the passenger. However, the medical team later confirmed the passenger’s death.
Kenya Airways expressed condolences to the deceased’s family and friends, adding that it was working with the family, relevant authorities and aviation regulators to provide assistance and complete the necessary procedures.
The airline also appealed for privacy and dignity for everyone affected by the incident.
