Security operatives in Imo State have launched a coordinated manhunt following the killing of a female nursing student, identified as Wendy Achumba, who was found dead in her apartment in Umudara, Obowo Local Government Area.
According to the police, the command immediately deployed a special tactical squad to the area after receiving reports of the incident.
Officers, led by the Divisional Police Officer, reportedly visited the scene for an on-the-spot assessment, after which the victim’s body was recovered and deposited in a morgue for preservation and further examination.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, confirmed that investigations have commenced to uncover the circumstances surrounding the murder and to track down those responsible.
He also disclosed that one suspect has already been arrested and is currently undergoing preliminary interrogation to assist ongoing inquiries.
Authorities assured residents and students in the area that the situation is under control, urging members of the public to remain calm while efforts continue to bring the perpetrators to justice in Nigeria.
