The Kaduna State Police Command has recorded a significant breakthrough in its ongoing fight against crime, dismantling multiple criminal networks and recovering stolen assets worth millions of naira.
In a series of coordinated operations carried out over the past two weeks, the police neutralised suspected kidnappers and arrested no fewer than 25 individuals linked to kidnapping, arms trafficking, drug distribution, and counterfeit currency operations.
Among the major recoveries were solar equipment valued at approximately ₦78 million, including 190 solar inverters and lithium batteries believed to have been stolen from a transport consignment. Other items recovered include 10 firearms, 170 counterfeit US dollar notes, 83 packs of hard drugs, 32 stolen mobile phones, two plasma television sets, a Toyota Sienna vehicle, and over 400 rustled cattle.
Speaking at a press briefing in Kaduna, the Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, stated that the operations reflect the command’s intensified efforts to dismantle criminal networks and ensure public safety.
One of the notable arrests involved a 20-year-old woman apprehended while attempting to exchange counterfeit foreign currency. Her confession led to the arrest of other members of the syndicate.
In a separate operation, anti-kidnapping operatives tracked and arrested three suspected gunrunners in Plateau State. The suspects allegedly admitted to supplying weapons to bandits operating across northern Nigeria.

The police also apprehended a suspected kidnap kingpin known as “Aala,” who reportedly confessed to multiple kidnapping operations and involvement in past violent attacks. An AK-47 rifle and ammunition were recovered from him.
Further successes were recorded in tackling vehicle theft and cattle rustling, with officers recovering stolen vehicles and intercepting rustlers during an operation in Zaria.
Additionally, two suspects were arrested for allegedly supplying illicit drugs to criminal groups, particularly bandits in parts of the state.
The Commissioner commended the officers involved for their professionalism and urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to aid ongoing security operations.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining its crackdown on criminal elements and safeguarding lives and property across Kaduna State.
