
A tragic road accident in Saki, Oyo State, has claimed the lives of two students, while another is currently battling for survival after being struck by a speeding bullion van.
The incident reportedly occurred along the MAK Polytechnic axis, opposite Sharon Rose Schools and College.
Eyewitness accounts revealed that the victims were riding on a motorcycle when the bullion van, allegedly driven at high speed, rammed into them.
One of the students was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severity of the impact, while the other two sustained serious injuries and were rushed for medical attention.
However, one of the injured victims later succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment, leaving the third student in critical condition.

Sources indicate that the victims had recently completed their Junior Secondary School Certificate Examination (JSCE), commonly known as Junior WAEC, and were said to attend the same school despite coming from different families.
Eyewitnesses attributed the crash to excessive speeding and reckless driving by the bullion van driver. The incident has plunged families, friends, and the entire Saki community into mourning.
As of the time of this report, the Oyo State Police Command has yet to officially confirm the incident. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olushola Olayinka, stated that further details would be provided after verification.
The unfortunate event has once again raised concerns about road safety and the dangers of reckless driving on Nigerian roads.
