Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested three individuals suspected to be involved in a series of armed robbery operations within Ibadan, the state capital.
The suspects—identified as Tomiwa Ayomide, Haruna Kabiru, and Haruna Hassan—were apprehended during a coordinated raid carried out in the early hours of Monday at a hideout located in the Sabo-Mokola area.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Olayinka Ayanlade, the operation was executed following credible intelligence on the activities of the suspects. The raid was conducted by officers attached to the Command Monitoring Unit.

Ayanlade disclosed that a thorough search of the premises led to the recovery of a single-barrel, locally fabricated cut-to-size gun, along with seven cartridges believed to have been used for criminal activities.
“The operation was based on actionable intelligence regarding a group of suspected armed robbers operating from a hideout within the Sabo-Mokola axis. During the raid, three suspects were arrested, and a firearm with live cartridges was recovered,” he stated.
The police spokesperson confirmed that the suspects remain in custody as investigations continue, adding that further updates will be provided as the case progresses.
The Oyo State Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and urged the public to continue providing timely and useful information to aid crime-fighting efforts.
