
The Nigeria Police Force has reported major operational successes across 11 states, including the neutralisation of a suspected terrorist, rescue of kidnapped victims and arrest of several suspected criminals.
The operations, conducted between September 12 and 15, 2026, also resulted in the recovery of firearms, ammunition, illicit drugs, vehicles, motorcycles, ransom money and other exhibits.
In Kebbi State, police and military operatives neutralised a suspected terrorist during a clearance operation in Gumki Village, Arewa LGA, recovering a PKT rifle with 174 rounds of ammunition, an AK-47 rifle with 14 rounds, four motorcycles and mobile phones.

Two abducted women were also rescued unharmed in Katsina State after security operatives engaged armed bandits in a gun duel.
Other arrests and recoveries were recorded in Ogun, Akwa Ibom, Sokoto, Delta, Ekiti, Rivers, Kaduna, Kogi and Jigawa states. Among those arrested were suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, a suspected bandit informant and a suspect linked to the alleged rape of an eight-year-old girl.
The police said investigations are ongoing, while efforts continue to apprehend other suspects linked to the various crimes.
