Two officials serving under Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde have resigned from their positions amid political developments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The officials are the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Barrister Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo, and the Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning, Simeon Adegbola Oyeleke.
Both resignations were announced on Monday, November 2, 2026.
Ojo announced his resignation in a letter addressed to Governor Makinde in the early hours of Monday.
In the letter, he said his decision to leave office would take immediate effect, referring to his appointment letter dated June 22, 2026.
However, he did not state any specific reason for his resignation.
The former commissioner expressed appreciation to Makinde for giving him the opportunity to serve Oyo State, describing his time in the administration as an honour.
Meanwhile, Oyeleke also announced his resignation in a letter dated November 2, 2026, citing an unconducive working environment and his inability to effectively represent the interests of his people.
He said he was no longer comfortable with the working conditions within the administration and could not pursue the aspirations of his people effectively while remaining in office.
