In a formal petition dated June 23, 2026, the family—through their legal representatives, Law Corridor—urged the police authorities to take swift action against eight individuals accused of involvement in the fatal attack.

Tragically, Ezekiel whose mother owned a nearby palm wine joint was struck by a stray bullet and killed, despite not being the intended target.
The Osun State Police Command confirmed the incident, noting that another victim sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
