
A couple in Anambra State has been remanded in a correctional facility following their alleged involvement in the severe abuse of a 10-year-old boy, identified as Chiziterem.
The suspects, Chukwudi Chukwuyere (40) and his wife, Chisom Chukwuyere (30), were arraigned after preliminary investigations by the Anambra State Police Command.
Their arrest follows widespread outrage triggered by a viral video showing the young boy with multiple injuries across his body, reportedly inflicted while he was under their care.
The incident occurred in Awada, Obosi, within Idemili North Local Government Area. The disturbing footage sparked public concern and prompted swift intervention from both residents and the state government.
