Chibuzor Chinyere, the General Overseer of the Omega Power Ministry, has suspended plans to arrange a marriage for his 21-year-old adopted daughter, Chiemeka Chibuzor, after receiving an overwhelming response of more than 1,000 applications from interested suitors.
The cleric made the announcement in a Facebook post on Thursday, stating that the proposed marriage arrangement had been put on hold.
He noted that the suspension was effective immediately, adding that further instructions would be communicated at a later time. However, he did not give specific reasons for the decision.
The development comes just days after Chinyere publicly announced plans to find a husband for his daughter, a move that quickly attracted widespread attention across social media and beyond.
In his earlier statement, the pastor outlined conditions for prospective suitors, stating that any interested man must be young and physically and mentally fit.

He also excluded elderly individuals and persons with disabilities from consideration.
He further promised a support package for the marriage, which included lifetime financial assistance for the couple, provision of a house built in both their names, and periodic unannounced visits by OPM officials to ensure the welfare and safety of his daughter.
According to him, the arrangement was intended to ensure that she would be well cared for and protected in marriage, despite living with autism.
The initiative reportedly followed a similar case in which another individual under his care, Aboy Chibuzor, was recently married to a single mother of three.
The suspension has since generated mixed reactions online, with many observers questioning the approach while others awaited further clarification from the ministry.
