A 21-year-old man, identified as Ayomide Adebayo, has been arrested in Ogun State for allegedly breaking into a house and stealing household items while the owner was away at church.
The incident occurred at Asore, Atan-Ota, where operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, apprehended the suspect.
According to the agency, Adebayo allegedly jumped over the fence of the residence and gained access to the premises through the rear.
He reportedly removed the burglary protection on a window before entering the main building, where he allegedly took rice, bread, cooking pots and an undisclosed amount of money.
The incident was disclosed in a statement issued by the State Commander of the So-Safe Corps, Soji Ganzallo, and signed by the agency’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Adegunwa Adegbuyi.
The suspect was reportedly discovered when the homeowner returned from church and noticed that the gate was locked from inside, despite having secured it from outside before leaving.
