
Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State have apprehended three suspects linked to cases of infrastructure vandalism and vehicle theft in separate incidents across the state.
In the first incident, two men identified as Adamu Ibrahim (25) and Abba Ado (24), both residents of Roba in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, were arrested for allegedly vandalising electricity infrastructure at Yunfawa village.
The suspects were said to have tampered with and stolen about 300 metres of aluminium conductor cables belonging to the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO).
They were reportedly caught in the act and later confessed during interrogation, while a third accomplice is currently at large.

In a separate operation, NSCDC officers arrested an 18-year-old suspect, Abdullahi Aminu, in connection with the theft of a tricycle in Dala Local Government Area.
The suspect allegedly drove off with a tricycle carrying a female passenger while the rider was momentarily away. The victim was later rescued following a swift response by patrol officers.
According to the NSCDC Kano State Command spokesperson, the suspects have been taken into custody and will be prosecuted in court upon completion of investigations.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to tackling vandalism and theft across the state, noting that such crimes pose serious risks to public infrastructure and safety.
