
The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps) has arrested a guest house manager over an alleged fraud scheme involving ₦12.5 million.
The incident was reported to the command by the owner of Remmy Guest House in Alagbaka, Akure, Mrs Linda John, who accused her employee of financial misconduct.
The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Akinsanmi Olawale, reportedly served as the manager of the facility and was responsible for handling its daily financial operations.
According to the NSCDC, he was accused of failing to account for business proceeds generated over a two-year period, spanning 2024 to 2026.

Investigations further suggested that he allegedly manipulated financial records in order to conceal alleged misappropriation of funds.
Following the complaint, NSCDC operatives arrested the suspect on May 18, 2026, and commenced a full investigation into the matter.
The corps also stated that preliminary findings indicated inconsistencies in the financial records presented by the suspect. He was also said to have confessed to the allegation during interrogation.
The NSCDC added that the suspect would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations, in line with its zero-tolerance stance on fraud and other criminal offences.
The case is expected to proceed to prosecution as authorities continue efforts to ensure accountability and transparency in financial management within private establishments.
