The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two Nigerians living in Europe after they allegedly swallowed 200 wraps of cocaine weighing 3.46 kilogrammes while attempting to travel from Abuja to Paris, France.
The suspects, identified as Aliocus Godian Odife and Sam Blackborn, were intercepted on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, during the outward clearance of an Air France flight, AF 832, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
According to the NDLEA, the arrests followed body scans that revealed foreign objects in the suspects’ stomachs. Both men subsequently admitted to ingesting cocaine and were placed under observation, during which they excreted all the drug wraps.
The agency disclosed that Odife, who reportedly lives and works in a factory in France, had arrived in Nigeria on October 21 for a short holiday. He allegedly swallowed 110 wraps of cocaine weighing 1.901 kilogrammes.
His co-traveller, Blackborn, reportedly ingested 90 wraps weighing 1.559 kilogrammes. The combined seizure amounted to 200 wraps weighing 3.460 kilogrammes.
In a statement issued on Sunday, NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi revealed that the arrests formed part of the agency’s ongoing operations against drug trafficking across the country.
