
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested several suspected drug traffickers and seized large quantities of illicit drugs during operations across multiple states.
The agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, disclosed the arrests and seizures in a statement issued on Sunday.
In Oyo State, NDLEA operatives stopped a Toyota Sienna along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and arrested two occupants, identified as 70-year-old Abdulfatai Oyelaran and 50-year-old Abdulrauf Ajadi.
Officers reportedly recovered 52,000 ampoules of pentazocine injection and 6,000 ampoules of tramadol injection from the vehicle.
In Kwara State, Abubakar Adamu, 50, and Bilyaminu Nuhu, 30, were arrested around Kam Wire in Ilorin while allegedly transporting 55.96 kilogrammes of skunk in a truck.
Delta State also recorded major seizures after Osaro Ikpoba, 43, and Samuel Godbless, 18, were intercepted along the Onitsha-Asaba Expressway. NDLEA said officers recovered tramadol pills, codeine syrup, Rohypnol, diazepam and other substances.
Another suspect, Emeka Tony, 50, was arrested along the Kwale-Ozoro Expressway, with officers allegedly recovering 1,244 cartridges and ₦8 million from him.

In Plateau State, NDLEA operatives reportedly seized 239,490 capsules of Tramaforce from a Toyota Corolla on the Riyom-Jos Road and arrested Kasum Sherif.
Kano State recorded further seizures, including 728,958 pills, 360 grammes of cocaine, 99.8 grammes of methamphetamine, codeine syrup and 2.7 kilogrammes of Loud.
The NDLEA also arrested Mustapha Iliya, 30, and Abdulwahab Abdulrashid, 24, in Kumbotso Local Government Area, where 171 blocks of skunk weighing 106.8 kilogrammes were allegedly recovered.
The agency said the operations were part of its ongoing efforts to disrupt the distribution and supply of illicit drugs across the country.
