
The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers linked to the abduction of students from the Faculty of Engineering, Nasarawa State University, Gudi Campus, and confirmed that the victims have been safely released.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by Police Public Relations Officer SP Ramhan Nansel, the breakthrough followed sustained intelligence-led operations and coordinated tactical efforts by command operatives.
The suspects were identified as Abdullahi Yeyi Haro, described as the alleged leader of the kidnapping syndicate, and Basiru Abdullahi. Both are natives of Gudi community in Nasarawa State. Police said the arrests came after diligent investigation and strategic operations aimed at dismantling the criminal network behind the abduction.
The command confirmed that the abducted students have regained their freedom and been reunited with their families. The victims are currently receiving medical attention and support following their ordeal.

Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed commended the officers for their professionalism and dedication to the operation. He reiterated the command’s resolve to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state, and said efforts were ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the syndicate.
“The Command remains determined to rid Nasarawa State of all forms of criminality, particularly kidnapping and other violent crimes,” he said.
The police also thanked members of the public for providing timely information and urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible intelligence.
