
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a successful airstrike on terrorist camps in Sambisa Forest, eliminating several insurgents and destroying their facilities.
The operation took place on Monday, April 20, 2026, as part of ongoing military efforts under Operation Hadin Kai in the North-East region.
NAF spokesperson, Edward Gabkwet, confirmed that the mission was based on credible intelligence about the movement and activities of terrorists within the forest.

According to him, fighter jets were deployed to carry out precise strikes on identified targets. The attack successfully neutralised several fighters and destroyed key structures, including logistics bases used by the insurgents.
He stated that the operation is part of sustained military pressure aimed at weakening terrorist groups and reducing their ability to operate in the region.
The NAF also assured that no civilian casualties were recorded during the airstrike.
