Nigerian rapper Msjorji has reignited the debate over the “African Bad Girl” identity, declaring herself the only artiste deserving of the title while questioning its long-standing association with singer Tiwa Savage.
Msjorji made the claim during an appearance on Wazobia FM, where she was asked about Savage’s use of the “ABG” identity.
“I am the only ABG, African Bad Girl. I don’t really know why we keep calling her Tiwa Savage ABG. What is bad about her?” she said.

The rapper was also asked about Savage’s long career and contributions to the Nigerian music industry.
However, Msjorji dismissed the argument that being an early entrant or pioneer automatically meant an artiste had done things better.
“Just because you did something first doesn’t mean you did it well. Let’s just be clear. I am the only and number one ABG. Na me be that,” she said.
Taking the jab further, Msjorji added, “She can go and do ABC or just be a mom.”
Her comments are likely to fuel fresh debate among music fans over the ownership and meaning of the “African Bad Girl” identity, which has been closely associated with Savage for years.
