Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have commenced an investigation into the killing of a 43-year-old man, Desmond Ayuba, in Taggai village, Manguna District, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Ayuba was reportedly killed at about 5:50am on September 27, 2026, after suspected armed men attacked him in front of his residence.
Security sources said troops responded to a report of the incident and arrived at the scene, where they confirmed that Ayuba had been killed.
Preliminary information gathered by the security team indicated that the deceased had reportedly been involved in a series of disagreements with a Fulani family in the community.

The dispute was said to have involved an individual identified as Dere.
However, security analyst Zagazola Makama said investigators had not established whether the earlier disagreement was connected to Ayuba’s death.
Security personnel have begun efforts to identify and arrest those responsible for the killing.
The investigation is also expected to establish the motive behind the attack and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
