Three people have reportedly been killed in a suspected reprisal attack in Kassa, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident reportedly happened around 12:40 a.m. on Friday, September 25, after security personnel responded to reports of gunshots in the community.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, troops from Sector 4 of Operation Enduring Peace moved into the area and reportedly forced the attackers to retreat.

The troops later searched the community and recovered three bodies.
The victims were identified as Ishaya Pam, 48; Barnabas Gyang, 27; and Daniel Mutuwal, 30.
Security personnel also reportedly recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with nine rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, which was allegedly abandoned at the scene.
The attack was said to have occurred a few hours after a Fulani herder was reportedly killed and 42 cattle allegedly stolen around the boundary between Barkin Ladi and Mangu Local Government Areas.
Security sources reportedly suspected that the attack in Kassa may have been carried out as retaliation for the earlier incident.
The troops’ intervention reportedly prevented the attackers from carrying out further attacks in the community.
