A 49-year-old man, identified as Balamau Lardi, has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly stabbing his 37-year-old wife, Biyagwal Balamau, during an incident in Kurnyi Tudu Village, Guyuk Local Government Area.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. According to the police, officers from the Guyuk Divisional Police Headquarters responded after receiving information about the incident, rescued the victim and arrested the suspect.
The victim reportedly sustained serious injuries to the left side of her ribs and was rushed to a medical facility, where she underwent surgery and is currently receiving treatment.

The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, condemned the alleged act of gender-based violence and directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the case for further investigation and prosecution.
