
The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Seth over the alleged killing of his father in the Pipeline area of Rumukwurushi, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect, said to be in his 20s, allegedly attacked his father with a machete during an incident at their residence. The victim reportedly sustained multiple injuries, including wounds to his neck, and was later found dead.
According to a neighbour, the suspect’s mother, who works as a teacher, was away at work when the incident occurred. Upon returning home, she reportedly found the house in disarray and later discovered her husband unresponsive.
The neighbour said the suspect allegedly remained inside the house and locked the door after the incident. Vigilante members and police officers were subsequently alerted and reportedly forced the door open, where the suspect was allegedly found with bloodstains on his hands.

The police confirmed the arrest and said investigations are ongoing to establish what led to the alleged attack.
The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Blessing Agabe, said the suspect had been arrested while detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the motive.
Authorities have not disclosed further details as investigations continue.
