A man identified as Tosin has reportedly been killed after he was allegedly robbed by suspected cultists in the Egbin area of Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Tosin, who travelled from Ondo State to attend an event in the community, reportedly stepped out of the venue on September 15, 2026, while the event was ongoing. He was allegedly attacked by hoodlums who dispossessed him of his gold chains, mobile phones and other belongings.
According to police sources, Tosin was subsequently reported missing. Three days later, on September 18, his body was reportedly found floating in a river and later deposited at a morgue after it was identified as his.

Following the discovery, police operatives reportedly raided the area and arrested some suspects. Investigations have since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the incident, stating that the case was initially treated as a missing-person report before the discovery of the corpse.
The police said investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding Tosin’s death and identify all those allegedly involved.
